Membership
Memberships are currently offered in one month, three month, and six month packages, for ages 14 and up.

Membership packages for undergrad students are also available, on a term by term basis.

Prospective members can try three free trial classes before signing up for a membership.
Undergrad Program

Our Classes
Waterloo Jiu Jitsu is a self defense based martial arts system. Utilizing Japanese jiu jitsu, combative jiu jitsu and grappling, Waterloo Jiu Jitsu has something for everyone, whether it's for self defense, competition, or to improve your overall fitness level.
Classes are offered on a rotating schedule, practicing throws, striking, joint locks, randori and grappling.
Striking
Develop technique, timing and power using punches, kicks, elbows, knees and open hand techniques.
Hand Techniques & Randori
Standing joint locking techniques applied to the weakest points of the human body.
Locks are applied to gain compliance, control, restraints and entry into throws.
Throws
Grappling technique involving off-balancing or lifting an opponent and throwing them to the ground, where they can be easily neutralized.
Grappling
Ground based fighting with an emphasis on self defence, where a smaller person is able to neutralize the advantages of a larger opponent using position and leverage.
Sport Jiu Jitsu
The culmination of striking, joint locking, grappling and throwing techniques. Live practice and competition are trained to help develop technique and reflexes against a resisting partner.
